Frankie Passes Away

 Frankie Manning May 26 1914-April 27, 2009

Greetings
As you might have heard, Frankie entered the hospital a week and a half ago, due to problems with his medication. Then on Friday, he was taken into the intensive care unit after he developed pneumonia. It was a very serious situation. Although he could not talk or move his limbs, he recognized people and responded to their messages of caring and love. Throughout all of this his spirit remained strong and his family and close friends were with him. Frankie passed away peacefully this morning. April 27, 2009. He was 94+ years old.  For more information:  www.Yehoodi.com

Frankie Manning will always be remembered as an inspiration for the dance that he did so much for. I got to meet him in Victoria in 2002 and in Seattle in 2005. He was always so positive and cheerful - he was an amazing dancer and human being and will be missed - and he will always be celebrated as being one of the greatest leaders for the Lindy Hop and partner dancing communities.  -Marie (original from Doug Silton)

Don`t stop the Lindy Hop! Dress to rip it up. Dance to cut a rug.
We only play music for a  jitterbug
Come one, come all: near and far. Walk right in-walk right out.
Stay a little, stay awhile. Dance. Relax. Forget your troubles and SMILE!
